Crvena Zvezda's Late-Game Heroics Secure EuroLeague Victory Over Milan
In a thrilling EuroLeague showdown on Thursday, Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade staged a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback, outlasting EA7 Emporio Armani Milan 104-96 at the Allianz Cloud arena.
This victory propelled Zvezda to a 12-10 record in the EuroLeague standings, while Milan's winning streak was halted at 11-11 after they held the upper hand for most of the first three quarters.
Milan got off to a strong start, outscoring their opponents 55-44 by halftime and maintaining a commanding 82-70 lead at the end of the third quarter.
However, Zvezda's resilience and clutch performances from key players ignited a late-game surge. In the final period, they went on a 34-14 run, fueled by relentless defense and crucial scoring from Jared Butler and Nikola Kalinic.
Jordan Nwora led the charge with 22 points, but he went scoreless in the fourth quarter, allowing Butler, Chima Moneke, and Codi Miller-McIntyre to take charge and secure the victory.
Butler and Moneke each contributed 18 points, while Miller-McIntyre nearly recorded a triple-double with 15 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, anchoring the defense in the crucial fourth quarter.
Despite a 9-of-25 shooting performance from deep, Zvezda capitalized on their offensive rebounding, steals, and forced turnovers to overcome their shooting struggles.
Milan had five players in double figures, led by Shavon Shields' 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting, but they couldn't withstand Zvezda's late-game momentum.
Looking ahead, Zvezda will face AS Monaco and Virtus Bologna in their next two games, while Milan will travel to Real Madrid and then host Zalgiris Kaunas.
